Nutrition Therapy for Your Child and Family

Thank you for your interest in seeking help to improve your child’s and family’s nutrition and health status.

Even though you may be requesting this service for your child, I encourage the immediate family to fully participate to provide support for your child.

Children learn many of their behaviors and habits from the people closest to them. In order for the nutrition therapy to be successful, we need the participation of the family to help change the environment around the child and the family.

I have mothers frequently complained that the fathers do not want to change or do not understand the severity of the child’s health problems. I can help the family understand your child’s condition and explain why we are doing what we’re doing.

Contact me to schedule for a 15-minutes FREE consultation to decide if we’re good fit to work together to improve your child’s nutrition, health and fitness status.

I’m located in Honolulu. I understand transportation may be an issue with children with special needs. Please let me know if a home visit is more appropriate for your visit.

You'll receive address to the meeting location upon scheduling visit.

Phone consultation is also available for neighbor islands and out-of-states clients.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU?

Making dietary and lifestyle changes is a difficult journey to go through alone, not to mention doing it with a child on his/her journey. Having an experienced coach can make this journey a lot easier to endure.

Especially working with your own child. I have many parents telling me how difficult it is to tell their children that they can’t have certain foods because of their condition. Some parents feel guilty for restricting their children’s food choices.

During this journey, I’ll be your coach and mentor to guide you, the parent, to handle difficult situation and I can also help explain to your child the reason behind such decisions, so eventually the decision to not eat certain food is their own.

During the nutrition therapy journey together, I will guide you through the difficult times of transition, handling new food situation, develop new shopping, eating, and cooking habits for your child and your family.

People frequently choose to go on dietary changes alone thinking that they have enough nutrition information from reading magazines, newsletter, medical articles, etc.

The reason why many people failed to keep their weight off and regained most (plus more) of their lost weight is because of lack of proper coaching.

It’s just like learning to play tennis or golf. You’ve seen people play tennis and golf, and you decide to go out to pick up a golf club and start swinging. Then you realize that hitting that golf ball without proper training is almost impossible.

If you’re not sure if nutrition therapy is right for you, you can contact me to schedule for a 15-minute FREE phone consultation, and I can help you decide you if we can work together.

Or you can schedule for a single visit of 45 minutes to get all your nutrition, health and fitness questions answered.

If we decide that your nutrition, health and fitness goals need more help than just a single visit, there are multiple-visit packages available.

HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

You can contact me via email, and I’ll set up a visit at your convenience.

DOES THE CHILD NEED TO BE PRESENT DURING VISIT?
Yes, at least for the first visit. My assessment is not based on diet information alone. Because we’re dealing with children who grow and learn very fast, I assess their development and observe for specific signs and symptoms of nutrition-related developmental delays and tell-tale signs of other possible conditions.

FEE POLICY

We do not accept any forms of medical insurance as most insurance coverage for nutrition therapy is very limited.

Your fee for nutrition therapy is 100% tax-deductible under medical expenses; or it can be paid from your HSA or MSA.

Fees are due upon first visit by cash or checks (to keep our cost down so you pay less).

LATE, NO-SHOW, CANCEL AND RE-SCHEDULE POLICIES

You will receive email confirmation 2 business days before your scheduled appointment.

We encourage you to show up at least 15 minutes before your appointment, so you can check in, settle down, relax and be mindfully ready to plan changes for your family’s life.

If you’re late for appointment, we’ll only be able to see you for the remainder of the scheduled appointment time. For example, if you’re 15 minutes late for your 45 minutes appointment, we’ll only have 30 minutes to work with you.

We also charge a $50 no-show fee. We do encourage you to cancel or re-schedule at least 24-hours before your scheduled appointment time to avoid the no-show fee.
